France and Germany are both sclerosed from socialism. Perhaps the new European countries will salvage their economies.

Germany produces the BMW, the Audi and the Mercedes.........cars that far outstrip the quality of our cars. And those companies are hugely profitable. Germany is in the forefront of medical research and other scientific advancement. They have major company representation such as Siemens in hi tech and industrial production. They currently are absorbing the former DDR, a country roughly half their size with a standard of living far inferior. When that assimilation is done, Germany will be a powerhouse.

As for France, that country has some of the best wines in the world. Its cities are vital, safe, attractive places to work and play unlike American cities. It still leads in fashion and fine cuisine. In fact, its food is to die for. It has a transportation system that makes ours look like something out of lego. Its people get 4 weeks off in the summer and embody a lifestyle that is far less stressful than ours. People don't have to sweat stuff like how will they pay for their root canal or their needed lobotomy.

Neither country is in any trouble of going under...........and if you think of them within the broader context of the EU, all I can say is we need to watch out. We have two major rivals coming up.......the EU and China. Things will never be the same for us.

So this Rummie BS about Old Europe is about as creditable as well ole Rummie.

Demographically, Europe should be doing well.

I'm not sure why they should be, but they aren't.
