Yes, of course, lying would be unethical.

But lying wasn't necessary. There is so much wrong with Saddam's gov't both internally and in the region which is vital to the whole world. Trying to play gotcha over this issue or that is a waste of time.

Saddam was a ticking bomb. Of course, things are chaotic after him. But Iraq is something that was gonna happen sooner or later with all that comes after. Better at our choosing rather than his.
