I was a CPA in my working life, and like you, when I was young, I thought about cutting expenses rather then raising revenue. However, years ago, I had a boss who made the statement to me, "Volume cures all ills". I learned over time that he was correct. President Bush is doing what he believes is necessary to increase the Gross National Product through his encouraging tax and investment policies. You can debate, if you wish, the best way of accomplishing that, but I do believe that we will be better off with rapid economic growth which in the long run will take care of the debt and many other potential problems facing this nation in the future. jdn
