They are predicting that within a couple of decades China may outstrip the US as an economic power Who's "they"? Seems like a rather silly prediction to me. Some time in the 21st century is quite possible but within a couple of decades is very unlikely. The Economist. Good article......you should read it. economist.com Actually they said within the decade China would be the largest importer/exporter in the world. However, they did not specify when China may become the largest economic power but once you are the largest exporter/importer can the rest be far behind? ted
