Ron, << With a spell check before submission ... and 15 minutes to check and edit links, I don't think preview, per se, is necessary at all. >> FWIW: In my case, I get more utility out of Preview because I compose in a text editor and (generally) spell check before posting. I always use preview to catch (to the best of my ability) formatting errors, so I can move on without looking back. Especially useful for tables, but also for breaks in paragraphs, incorrect usage and spelling that gets by the spellchecker (their/there, your/you're etc.) I missed, etc. << If you use MS Internet Explorer >> Not everyone does. << As for ignore?
