Elmer,

How many class action lawsuits on PGF now? Losing $4 CDN those PGH holders must be might unhappy they can't sell their shares in the US.

Lets watch the Canadian gov't cut off their nose in spite of their face. First, sell Noranda to the Chinese at rock bottom prices. (Do they think Minmetals will pay MORE tax than Noranda?)

Then, put the non-resident capital flowing into the oil and gas sector at risk through this proposed legislation.

So, which is it? Foreign investment is welcomed or not?

If they were really doing their job they'd be stopping businesses in the windows and doors sector from trusting. As if attracting capital to the energy sector gets priority scrutinization over some doors and shutters.

This report-while it may be biased-shows significant investment in the oil and gas sector through the trusts.

By the way, I am a non-resident and can easily buy the cheaper pgfb in my US brokerage account, but I don't-I don't want to be double taxed.

Whatever 'system' is being dreamt up in Ottawa is not working.
