Cuba is on it. Haven't you ever belonged to an organization where you didn't like some of the people? Where you had differing views and were glad you weren't friends?Yes. But I did not rush out and try to appoint the organization as my nanny. No one including Kerry is suggesting the UN be our nanny nor anything close to that. Your responses are confusing me. What is it that you think the UN is good for then? in what ways do you feel we need to subjugate ourselves to the UN? Don't you see something truly obscene about the makeup of the HRC? You said you don't like the freerepublic.com because they might say something to support the President. Is it reasonable to assume then that you don't like CBS, NBC, ABC< CNN, PBS, Reuters, or AP because they overwhelmingly "report" in a way that supports Democrats, and Kerry? My understanding was that Annon worked closely with the Security Council to get the weapon inspectors back into Iraq. You normally post lucid thoughts. The offer to allow weapons inspectors back in came after the US had amassed troops on the borders. Draw the only conclusion possible. Even if Kofi wanted them back in, it may have been greed (Oil4food), arrogance (what WMDs) other reasons for his actions. Yes, I should have said under pressure by the US. But again, Annon needs the support of a Sec. Council member before he can make a case that will stick. France, Germany, Russia, China and the UN staff were bought off. The UN was clearing millions for it's coffers, and millions more for it's leaders. The rest were selling products at vastly inflated prices. When the members of the Security Council are corrupt, how should we address that? Some times leading is not easy. People whose fingers are stuck in the cookie jar get ruffled when you step on their sticky fingers. No wonder the French and Germans are pissed, they had to swallow big haircuts on the debts for the inflated sales. Corporations get upset about having to write off debt they thought was bought and paid for. (Subtlety intentional.) Leaders take unpopular positions. Leaders are not always popular. If one does not spend their political capital, it evaporates. Bush is a great leader. This is evidenced by the fact that he is willing to do what is right, even when it is not popular. To those who will flame this. If you do not answer this question, everyone, even your supporters, will ignore your flame. Is the world better off without Saddam Hussein?
