By the way, I've started reading Katz's Life and Times of Panch Villa in hardcover, a real brick of a book--must weigh 10 lbs. It is eminently readable, very carefully researched, and one of the best things on the Revolution of 1910 I've ever laid hands on. Highly, highly recommended. amazon.com A lot of detail on Toribio Ortega at Cuchillo Parado, whom my great grandfather allegedly supplied with guns and ammo--a claim I don't believe. In sum, a lot of great stuff on the verge of being forgotten forever. It occurred to me that Osama and Pancho have something in common, i.e., the two persons who were both able to attack continental US soil since the British did so in 1812.
