Kerry was a moderate in the anti-war movement (as absolutely proven by the FBI reports) and a very effective part of it. He literally helped end the war though just a young man at the time. Kerry was a combat hero and peace-making hero. He never betrayed the troops as the extreme rightwing Bushies are claiming. Just the opposite. What you are believe is just extreme rightwing propaganda along the lines of how Hitler and the old Soviets smeared their opponents. In fact, if you read the true history of 1971, or see one of the documentaries about it, you will find that Kerry told the truth, as painful as it was, and helped save thosuands of soldiers' lives. Nixon respected him so much that before he died he made a special attempt to apologize to Kerry and embrace him in front of cameras. It was a tearful moment in American reconciliation. Nixon's dirty tricks chief Charles Colson also apologized to Kerry. Now it is Bush's turn.
