I think Edwards has been out of the courtroom too long. He's not displaying the "trial face" that an accomplished trial lawyer should have. I suspect it is because he was generally representing seriously injured plaintiffs. When you are on that side of the aisle sometimes you can get away with indignation and even hints of histrionics whereas the defense lawyers have to be more even-keeled and not appear unsympathic to the plaintiff's injuries. I don't know what the pundits or spin doctors will say, but I'm underwhelmed by Edwards' performance. At least so far.
