I support the troops too, in the sense that they go where they are ordered. Bush put them in harm's way. They reflect us, before Iraq, they WERE us. Now, they're targets. They're ordered to do things they know will result in some civilian deaths and injuries. They're victims of Bush, just like the Iraqis. It's a misuse of troops, troops we may need to defend America in the future. What they are doing now, I don't know.

The invasion of Iraq is one of the worst screwups in history. How we get out is unclear (I am for finding the fastest way out). But as long as our troops are there I would like to see them get as much help as possible. I don't see how our allies leaving helps us get out. That is my point.

As far as the murder of innocent Iraqis, I disapprove of many of the tactics being used by our forces. But I do not blame the troops, I blame the chain of command - mostly I blame Bush for the atrocities of this war.

I think it is a legitimate quesion to ask what would happen if we just left tomorrow? And would the result be any different than if we left over say 4 years? That approach cannot even be discussed while Bush is President. Personally I am very pessimistic on Iraq right now.
