I think that Unclewest war right yesterday and that the post-debate bounce that kerry had last weekend is fading. Both debaters last night did well enough with their bases but even dems and indys who like edwards have to have some gravitas qustions this morning. And in the age of terror, succession is a far more important consideration than in earlier times.
So now all Bush has to do is do better than he did last week in this fridays debate. It's a very low bar for bush and if he cant do that, he probably doesnt deserve to win. Knowing bushes competitive streak, i am sure he has been beating himself up for last week and the only danger is that he will be over-prepared.
I have been positioning myself as and indy swing voter and i think after my 48 hour flirtation with kerry i have wound up right back in the Bush camp. I am a flip flopper i guess but i just think bottom line is that kerry just doesnt have stickability. He may be the teflon candidate and after thinking about what he says for a few days leaves you with the conviction that he will say anything to win and has no core beliefs or if he does have them he trades them in every day as he reads the polls. All pols switch positions but most not with the frequency of kerry and not on core beliefs. mike
