Average per household debt in the U.S., not counting mortgage debt, is about $14,500 -- especially

i was going to say that's crazy, average credit card balances CAN'T be that high. but then i remembered your just talking about non-MORTGAGE debt. and certainly the biggest part of that must be cars. since most people buy cars on credit, 14.5K is not surprising.

Damn, I just realized, my husband who is a year younger than me will have an average net worth that is $4800 higher than mine!
