George Mitchell is the former partisan Democrat Senate Majority leader. He is the Chairman of the board. Eisner brought him in to deflect criticism of his leadership. Disney dumped 911 for the same reason that CBS buried the hack show about Reagan. This is related to why conservative businesses do not fire liberal anchors. Businesses focus on profit. Michael Moors's movie was too partisan. Disney execs probably loved it, but it would have engendered too much distrust. Advertisers would have left.
