Using the military does not make us stronger -- that is the fantasy of the neocons. We cannot do everything, and the Iranians know it. We cannot threaten Iran with anything more than a bombing campaign -- would that be effective? And what are the consequences? We have grown weaker and weaker by the day under Bush -- we are so weak now that other countries can act with impunity to develop nuclear weapons. Will we strike? Will Israel strike? And if either do, what then? The best use of power is as a deterrent. We lost our ability to deter when we squandered our resources on Iraq.
