The Shia follow Sistani rather than Iranian clerics. Almost nobody follows Al Sadr..just a few thousand poor Shia. Sistani backs elections and no delays.

I saw a clip on cable news today, a Major or Colonel was with a reporter and they were asking the citizens of Samarra if they were glad the Americans were there. All but one said things would be better if they would just leave and hadn't came. The one who was glad was a cleric who was glad to get his mosque back.
