Ted, I can't imagine why so many people want to live in Seoul. The climate sucks compared to say Busan which is along the coast.

Seoul is where all of the action is. You also have take into consideration the homogeneous nature of the Korean culture.

Do you think Korea will be united when long john dies?

Hard to say. How long does it take for a personality cult to die?

It would be a hard reunification compared to say Germany (which had its own bumps). West Germany was wealthier than South Korea and East Germany was a lot wealthier then North Korea. North Korea is an economic disaster zone with starvation and people trying to escape to China despite China's strong "discouragement" of the escape attempts. Also West Germany was 2/3 of the land and about 3/4 of the population of the new Germany. South Korea is closer to half.

But despite the difficulties it would be great for Korea and for the world if we could get rid of the North Korean regime without a massive bloodbath.
