Ann, I'm sure that Kerry has used his brief military record and subsequent stand against Vietnam to his political advantage. I do not call that "caving", I call it "politics". No doubt that in hindsight, Clinton's decision was totally wrong. Many of his advisers and members of the CIA were part of that decision and remained in office when Bush became president. I think my point was that playing politics with 9/11 culpability looses sight of our shared goal - to prevent it from happening again. Hence Bush wisely formed an independent commission. As I recall, it's conclusions did not implicate Clinton's character. Ann, I'm curious as to what's on your reading list these days.
