If a church pimps for a political candidate they lose their tax exempt status. The punishment is not jail it's just loss os tax status. the rightwing churches may be going over the line.

No pun intended, but American Spirit seems to be constitutionally incapable of ever admitting to an error. What he does not understand is that his reticence to admit to the occasional error (or in his case, the hourly error) erodes whatever credibility he has. I have lived either in or around Chicago all of my life. Politics from the pulpit has a long tradition in the African-American community. It has been a source of power for the community. Apparently it is legal in the African-American community and illegal in the Evangelical community.
