"Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves, regardless of "sexual orientation."".

There was no issue of whether or not people should or could "laugh at themselves". The issue was why YOU found it compelling to laugh at others.

You had said: "Some more entertainment from the APA". This is hardly an appropriate response to the serious effort of people to tutor others in how to "AVOID NEGATIVE AND DISPARAGING ATTITUDES".

Indeed, your remark seemed the very type of snide disparagement that was the target of the tutorage.

The avoidance of "sexual intercourse" was simply expressing a sensitivity to those who do not have sexual intercourse but rather have sexual activity. Professional Organizations need to respect the diversity of people and to be educated in avoiding statements that may be demeaning or belittling. It is quite natural and right that such a Professional Body (many of whom counsel people in matters of an intimate nature) should be taught how to respect--and to express their respect--for diversity. Nothing "entertaining" about such training.
