Actually, that is a very sensible way to take care of the long term problem. After all, one is killing successive generations of mosquitoes, in effect, quickly and efficiently. In the terrorist analogy, one is eliminating organizational structure, potential trainers, and wasting their financial resources.

KL,

The way to eliminate mosquitoes is to stand naked in the middle of a swamp and swat them dead as they land on you.

By standing in the swamp do you increase the number of mosquito's? - That seems to be the premise of the Dean/Kerry/Dem arguments.

Your anaology is actually a good one - by going to the middle of the swamp and draining it, we destroy the environment they breed in. During this process we will swat a lot of them and be bit many times - its the price of working in the swamp.

The alternative is what? We weren't in the swamp before and they came here and they bit us anyway. What makes you think they won't do it again? And in reality did anyone expect that by October 2004 there would be Zero new attacks on US soil?

Something about being in the swamp is working.

John

I see. The way to eliminate mosquitoes is to stand naked in the middle of a swamp and swat them dead as they land on you.

That works well in war.

The mission of American Infantry is to find, fix and destroy the enemy. One of our favorite tactics is to let the enemy know our position in the hope they will mass their forces for an attack.
