At last a bit of a scramble on for grains, perhaps as "real goods" and because shipping has up to now been used for other more pressing needs. Certainly a good way of getting a hold of a now cheap commodity and getting rid of depreciating USD?

CBOT WHEAT AND SOYA EXPORTS BEAT EXPECTATIONS 08-10-2004

The Chicago Board of Trade reported weekly sales of wheat at 803,000t compared with expectations of 450-600,000t. Cumulative sales have reached 57% of total needed to meet the US Department of Agriculture’s export forecast for the current marketing year, ahead of the average of 45% for this time of year. Furthermore, weekly soybean exports reached 1.02 Mt compared with market expectations of 750-900,000t. Soya meal exports for the week were 345,000t against an expected 75-175,000t.
