The Bush campaign has NOT been straight with the American people about WMDs and Iraq -- they can't be trusted <eom>.

Compensation, who met who - who cares. What is clear that there is a clear pattern of intentional deception unravelling before our eyes.

I'm a politically active conservative who was willing to lend vocal support to direct action in Iraq provided that we were being told the truth. I knew at the time that there was every chance we'd find out that we were being misled. I had deep reservations about anything we were being told by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Bush, who I regard as a talking puppet for the others. Did then still do now.

Why lend support then? Like many others, I am willing to venture, Colin Powell's support of the administration's position is what tipped me over the edge. I misjudged his apparent integrity.

At the time I told my wife and political colleagues that if it were later determined that the Bush administration were lying, there would be hell to pay. They did, and there should be a full and complete accounting of what has happened. Maybe Ken Star is free?

When political leaders lie to the public they deserve to be punished. This gang has not demonstrated leadership, just opportunism. Not only that they've clearly made a difficult situation in the Middle East worse.

Just like a bad trade, it pays to cut losses early. Its been months since it was obvious that the Bush administration was lying or less than truthful, and every passing week we are learning more. A stop loss should have been triggered on this crew long ago.

Surely there are better republican leaders out there. This current crop should be sent packing, even if it means a round of democrats.
