I think the Government also buys a lot of trinkets and junk, and they do it on credit as well. So do the mall morons. If we are going to turn this country around, both the Consumer and Govt, both need to stop borrowing money internationally to finance the purchase of worthless junk. Warren Buffet had this absolutely right. People need to toss their credit cards for starters or pay their balances in full each month. Interest payments are eating our standard of living alive.

I've found a great way to deal with the shopping impulse. I go to a Goodwill, a thrift store or a dollar store. You can get the same stuff at about 1/20 the price. It's just not new.
