It's based upon facts from an article about Rummy and his cohorts that discussed Rummy's and his cohorts nearly McCarthy-like style. Your second to last sentence is yet another example of you doing generalization.

When Bush brought back Rummy and the other cohorts from the McCarthy era, we should have known. Is there any connection between Rumsfeld & Joe McCarthy other than Kerry-Edwards-McAuliffe sleazy slander? Or is this some of your typical ageist claptrap? You seem more full of baseless opinions than facts. Have you seen the photo where Rummie is shaking the hand of Saddam or have you read the Congressional hearings on how closely the Reagan administration worked with Saddam to help him in his war with Iran? If so, you wouldn't be asking such ridiculous questions.
