MRK to zero? That would indeed be very bad, not only for MRK, but the market as a whole. I can't recall ever seeing a DOW stock go belly up, especially a company like MRK who is known for being an industry powerhouse. I don't see them going bankrupt. I haven't checked the balance sheets yet but I imagine they must have a fair amount of cash. This situation reminds me of the tobacco controversy, yet the tobacco companies survived and I expcet MRK will too. However, I'm not willing to bet money on it YET. The whole pharmaceutical industry is going to remain under pressure until after the election.

I saw my first "stand in line to sue merck" commercial... featuring, none other than.. JOHNNY COCHRAN!!

I think his slogan was "If yo heart don't work, you must sue Merck!"

Damn maroons, they knew this was an issue years ago, and they continued to market the drug in the face of heavy competition and safe therapy. It will be a tough case to win in court, but it will absolutely go to trial.
