it's abhorrent to me that the gov't doesn't hold itself to the same accounting standards as it does everyone else.

i've been privy to the inner workings of the public procurement process... scary stuff.

Yeah... but it's more then a little hard to figure out when foreigners will choose to refuse to buy our debts, except at seriously higher yields.
