(For reasons of their own though (like the need to tamp-down unrest by keeping domestic employment up), China and Japan have chosen so far to subsidize their exporter's by currency manipulations, and this forces them to 'sterilize' by re-injecting their dollar-based profits into our treasury debt issues. Recent months though have already shown a reduced level of foreign buying compared to last year. I think that once the dollar peg is adjusted upwards --- and China's currency is allowed to appreciate --- that the 'dam will be broken' and our dollar could drop very fast.)
