Yes, it's one thing to have good rules and ideas. Another to follow them.

If people here actually are basing their portfolio on their evaluation of facts or analyses regarding
1. Cash
2. Moat
3. Prospect of future earnings

then they'd likely have very few stocks and low turnover. And there'd be little or no use of stops. After all, if the stock declined - the cash and moat still ought to be there, esp. if no news was out to change that.

On this thread there are darn few moat stocks, imo. Value investing often means investing in troubled companies wtihout moats. Even on the Buffett thread though, you don't find that many people investing in Mr. Buffett's picks, and I believe he is among the chief proponents for moat investing.
