Yes, you're right. She was convicted for "lying" to investigators and not for "cheating" for personal gain. I sometimes forget that since I suspect that's the real reason they bagged her but the other charge was one they could make stick.

In my defense, I still think my point was valid. There are a huge number of people sitting in jail who could be said to be no threat to society, but sit in jail they do. My question to libbyt was what it was about Martha that made her want to make an exception of her and whether that exception would apply to those less "like us?"
