Yes, he should have fired someone but he didn't. I suspect that's because the man who was actually flying the plane was Cheney and all those "responsible" were doing exactly what he wanted them to do.

I would like to have seen Hagel or someone else running but given a choice between proven ineptitude coumpounded by ideological stupidity, and Kerry, I'll take a new team with Kerry at the top with full gratitude.

The cancer analogy was more for the purpose of paralleling the "don't question the cure" ferocity with which they prop up a failed policy. I disagree with you that this Bush policy is chemotherapy, but I like your acuity in presenting it.

The reason I don't agree is because that particular "cure" has never worked in modern history and will not work there any more than it would work here if the roles were reversed. There is, after all, a hive mentality in humans. If you want to take over the hive you must first depopulate it of all of its soldier bees and then you must breed with the queen. Not a pretty picture. Ed

PS. Thanks for the condolences. It wasn't "faith healing" but it was a whole lot of alternative medicine with some "faith" as it's basis.
