Economics started out as simple observation of objective reality. Then economists started trying to predict the future. I think that this is where they still fall short.

But some, such as Marxists, are worse than others at predicting the future. Some of Marx's observations were objectively accurate. There is a natural conflict between factory owner and factory worker as to who gets the money, as one example.
