That is not necessarily a term of endearment nor approbation.

The most applicable definition of a capable politician I can think of is one who is able to get elected, and re-elected, and re-elected....

Term limits for congressmen and Senators would go a lot farther to get the money out of politics than 100 McCain-Feingolds.

I've noticed as I've grown older one thing that usually always happenes when someone disparages another person.......and something that usually isn't considered.....is that all of that nastiness, meanspritedness and malicious intent reflects badly upon the speaker, and makes it clear they are small minded and narrow.
