I've read God knows how much about the Iraq war over the past two years, and it seems to me the most accurate assessment. I no longer have the link to the analysis.

I think it is actually quite charitable towards the Bush administration, as reasons (1) and (3) do address national security concerns.

With respect to reason (2), protecting Israel, that was mentioned by many politicians as one of the merits of the war, John Edwards himself mentioned how important it was to protect that nation. I consider it an utterly invalid rationale myself. I don't have any family or friends there so I don't really care much about the nation, just as I don't care much about Iraq. I understand why people who do have family or friends there feel quite differently.

I think if the Bush administration had been straight with us from the git go, he would be a lock to win the election. The actual rationales for invading Iraq are not ridiculous; it is the stated rationales for invading Iraq that are ridiculous.
