Celebrex - and other remaining cox-2 blockers - are superb medications. They work, and they are far safer then the old NSAID's. Hopefully, the problem with Vioxx was specific to that compound, and not due to the (common to all of them) mechanism of action. Even so, who knows how many participants in the Merck Vioxx study would get holes in the stomach if they were taking any of the older medications.
