the current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what Kerry has done.

Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win.

Do you believe that this is authentic? I wouldn't be so sure. Probably a cheap fake by the Republicans, meant to suggest that the press is biased in favor of the Democrats...

Is it conceivable that President Bush can survive the media onslaught, unprecedented in American history, that has been unleashed against him?

We'd all better hope so, LB.... If Kerry should win, we will have Carter all over again, but the stakes are MUCH higher this time.
