Who was that in the Bush suit last night? Whoever it was he was clearly more effective than in debate #1. However, I don't think either Kerry or Bush chaneged any minds last night.

It bothers me that a regular news feature accompanying most any debate coverage is a column from factcheck - it seems that both candidates get their facts wrong so often it has become necessary for the media to explain that much of what was said is not quite accurate.

Perhaps we need an independent referee to monitor the debates. When a candidate makes a statement at odds with the facts the referee would press a button that would

...light a big BULLSHIT sign,
...sound a warning gong
...and activate an electrical device worn by the candidates that would give them the electrical equivalent of a kick in the ass.

Who wants a gaggle of lawyers running the White House anyway? I'd rather have a real person.

I agree Dave. Pres Bush connected with the audience tonight while Kerry sounded like a calculator spouting numbers without any personal warmth. Voters will renew the contract with GW.
