Many union members can & do think for themselves. The small percentage that follow the union banter usually NEED the union to cover their butt. In large plants many managers will ignore the bad apples as the work is absorbed by the majority. However- those wages, benefits, and other costs are figurewd into the product cost. When union members want the product they head to Wally World to get it a few pennies cheaper, made in China. Now they whine about job loss! Don't blame Bush. It is the union, slug workers, and Wally World fanatics.
