Bush was in his element tonight. Plus he worked today, while Kerry practiced, and rested. I think that Bush told the folks who were scripting him, to get lost, and he just would be himself. Kerry seemed to wilt for the 2nd part of the debate, and went from looking condescending in the first part, to *piffy* in the 2nd part...

Bush looked like he was actually enjoying this...he wrote lots of notes, probably to not look at the camera and show his disgust for Kerry's inaccuracies. It worked. The folks who continually harangue that he can't talk without a script had a surprise tonight.... <ggg>

>>I came away from this debate high fiving my husband.

I spent the debate, not so much watching the candidates, as watching the audience. Sort of jury watching.

I was saying, "the guy in the beige can't make up his mind. The girl in white is for Kerry. The guy in the zipper jacked likes Kerry better than Bush but he doesn't really like either of them." Later - "the guy in the beige is for Bush now! And the girl in white is waffling. And the guy in the zipper jacket still can't make up his mind. And the lady in black likes Kerry the best but Bush is making points with her and Kerry is turning her off, and she doesn't like it."

It was fun. And, I repeat, Bush kicked ass! They both knew it, too.

I don't care what the pundits say. And I don't care what the online polls say. Bush romped him.
