If you want to make that change to my_account today, I promise I won't holler about my toes getting stepped on this time. <g>

I'm looking at it right now from home and the amount of editing/testing necessary isn't something I want to do from home on dialup.

I've got 8 commented-out lines in there that *look* like they'll work fine once uncommented and that change is applied. Looks like the handling of alias has to be changed in 3 lines.

Also, in looking at the code as-is, I'd guess that anyone with an apostrophe'd name is going to see it truncated on that page but the page doesn't crash. Correct?

I'm going to see if I can seek the wisdom of the site's creator on handling the Preview function. I might be making it more difficult than necessary, but my thinking on it may be trapped inside a box. I wouldn't think so since this is my second time writing a Preview function, but it could be the case. It really doesn't sound all that difficult until you start dealing with the fact (?) that every front-end and back-end message-handling routine has to be modified to deal with the fact that each of those routines now has a new entry scenario.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a weird topic for the welcome thread?

Let's pretend I am JoeNewbie....or JorjNewbie as the case would be. I am looking for pointers about the site, so I come to the Welcome to Silicon Investor thread and read a bunch of posts where I am actually looking at code for the site......thinking to myself, hmmmmm, these guys are debugging the site on the welcome thread....maybe I shouldn't come here to ask questions.

just a thought
