I think Kerry handled that well, and gave voice to and showed respect for different points of views on stem cell research. It is a gift he is showing on other issues, as well; to see and give credence to various sides of an issue. It was nice to read quotes from various papers that interviewed people and see several mentioning Kerry's thoughtfulness on issues... as opposed to that nuanced, talking too much, can't make up his mind thing. :) I can't hang with the talking point line they feed about Bush that "You might not agree with him, but he does what he believes". When he makes it clear that he feels no need to explain himself to anyone and appears to jump to his decision without interest in opposing views, then he is not governing an entire country that he has to pass a national test test with. I have no doubt that in tough situations Kerry could make the bold, quick decisions required. And in the slower decisions, that he would listen and give voice to all sides and explain why he chose to go in a certain direction. Gosh, that might help with polarization if the whole country felt that at least their voices were considered?
