The interesting thing about the polls is one major group is increasingly underrepresented - those who have ditched their wired home phones and rely exclusively on cellular service. This group is thought to consist of a significant number of younger voters who when they moved, never connected a landline because their cell phones worked just as well. I happen to know about a half dozen who rely exclusively on cellular.

One report I read indicated the poll takers have made "allowances" for that.

We'll know in a few weeks how accurate these allowances were.

I expect Dems to out-vote Repubs on Nov. 2. The polls should use more DEms than Repubs because as proven in Ohio Dem get out the vote efforts are as much as ten times as effective this year as the GOP's. This is because most people just don't like or trust Bush, even loyal Republicans. All McCain voters for instance would only vote for Bush with noses firmly held. McCain himself cannot stand Bush and Cheney, and thinks even less of the extremist operatives beneath them.
