The debt is going UP, not DOWN. You're talking about projections of the deficit going down. It was already down, it was negative when Bush took office.

Bush tries to excuse the deficit on 911 and the recession. Baloney.

The WSJ did an assessment and concluded that 911, the recession had some but no where near the most impact on the budget. Bush's tax cut for the wealthy and his war had the biggest impact on turning a surplus into a deficit.

The WSJ is a very conservative rag.
