But the intel on the nuclear smoking gun was not faulty, it was spot on. The intel uncovered FACTS that disputed the party line put out by Bush and his gang. The FACTS were known before 9/11. As was clearly identified in the information presented this last week, the aluminum tubes which Bush used to justify going to war were *not designed to be used in a uranium enrichment as part of a centrifuge* - in simple language, they were not evidence of Saddam's nuclear ambitions. That's a FACT, not supposition. The facts are simple and self-evident, so much so that any high school physics student could be made to understand them. This FACT was known in August 2001 . But despite the facts - that the tubes *were not evidence* of nuclear weapons program - Rice, Cheney, Powell and Bush (and others) instead simply said *yes, they are evidence* of nuclear weapons program. The FACT says No. Bush admin says yes anyway, despite the fact. Repeat that several times. The fact says, no, Bush admin says yes anyway. The fact says, no, Bush admin says yes anyway. The fact says, no, Bush admin says yes anyway. What is that if not deception? This FACT was known almost two years before Bush would distort the truth in his State of the Union address, because without this smoking gun, getting approval from the House and Senate was far from being assured.and if the Admin had intended a "put up job".....we would definitely have found WMD all over Iraq Too risky. And maybe they trusted their "instinct" (since there were no FACTS to support the WMD hypothesis we now know for certain) so much that they didn't bother planning for a put up job........your lack of critical thinking skills is apparent.....and is typical of Bush haters.... Now that is truly humorous. I am only interested in FACTS yet you are completely prepared to ignore the FACTS. The world (including me) was completely prepared to follow Bush based on FACTS. I can't help that lies and deception were used by Bush and his administration to justify a policy, but I can react appropriately. Its very ironic that Bush used those tubes as the smoking gun to justify the final decision to go to war. Those same tubes are the smoking gun that history will record as the tipping point in Bush's presidency. The man lied. His administration lied. How else is one to react to a leader who lies to commit the country to war?
