No, Enron was an energy company. The government policies for energy on certain matters is rather similar to oil, basically the same basket. Or, more accurately said, there are certain investigations underway that might result in a proposal of policies that would apply to both of those industries.

There is underway a federal investigation of some of these policies, though you probably won't hear about it until Bush departs. (This isn't meant to be a critical statement about Bush, but a matter of fact commentary about how the govt will have investigations underway that the general public doesn't know about, and in fact some Congressional leaders don't know about, until a different political party takes over the Presidency and then releases the information.) The same process happens with the Democrats too. It's how the system works.

The war cost around $300B. How much does this country save per year through lower gas prices compared to Europe? That would be an interesting number to know. Edit: a loose calcuation possibly shows around 420B savings per year. You could very well be right.
