Yet when Bush is caught telling us about WMD ..and the connection between Saddam and 9/11 and later it is proved to be phony... WE GO ALONG AND JUSTIFY WHAT HE DID.. UN belie able.

It is incredible to me that this viewpoint actually has life outside the asylum's grounds.

Think about it rationally for a second:

1.- Every single intelligence service, including those of other countries that opposed Bush's plans, thought Saddam had WMD.

2.- Saddam had WMD in the past, had used them to kill his own people in the past, and was dangerously close to developing a nuke in '91. In fact, he is quoted as saying that his mistake in invading Kuwait was that he did so before he had nukes. Given his history, his intentions, and, more importatnly, his past, is it not reasonable to believe that he in fact continued his efforts, particularly since he kicked out the inspectors in '98, thus allowing himself a free hand from '98 to '03?

3.- Think politically. If Bush knew in advance that Saddam did not have WMD, would he have risked his Presidency on a venture which was sure to result in a very high risk that he would not be re-elected, as has actually occurred? Would it not have been safer for him politically to not invade Iraq rather than face the withering political heat he is facing now?

4.- Have you lost it? Bush never said there was a connection between 9/11 and Saddam. Where are you getting this notion? You had better revisit it. Dispassionately, I might add.

Forget about it.

Vote for Kerry.

I'm tired of trying to discuss these things rationally with people who continually mouth things which are so patently lacking in merit.

The lefties are irreversibly off the political deep end.

It's all about passion and prejudice, not about thinking and reason.

Have fun. And while you are at it, why don't you elucidate what Kerry's "plan" for Iraq might be and how he has always had "one position" on the issue. If you can't answer those two simple questions, you are voting with your eyes closed, which is unfortunately your privilege as a citizen.

<<We as a Nation have been lied to by our President.>>

Yes, but he's no longer in office and hasn't been for almost 4 years.
