making false charges of daily atrocities that smeared the good name of all Vietnam vets for decades??

The TRUTH is that Kerry merely reported the charges he had HEARD about. It is the desperate Smearvets that keep on insisting and harping that Kerry made those charges. Joe Klein, one of the editors at TIME himself ventured into Vietnam and heard similar reports (see Sept. 6th 2004 issue of TIME's article, "What the Swifties Have Cost America") that Kerry reported about.

If Kerry had indeed broken the law, why didn't the power that be at the time prosecute him? What were they afraid of? Fear of a greater guilt, I suppose? Fear of opening a Pandora Box?
If the authorities had any legitimate chance, they blew it, didn't they? So, why flog a dead horse now? Goddamned waste of time! To me, it's so very fishy business that it stinks to high heaven!

The US government in the late 1960s and early 1970s were dishonest to the American people. It kept telling the American people that the war was being won in Vietnam and that it would be over SOON! That "SOON" period dragged on into seven years from 1968 to 1975. Meantime lives were needlessly lost because neither Johnson nor Nixon wanted to go down in history as the first president to have lost a war.
So, put the blame where it belongs --- on Nixon, especially, for dragging on the war even as Kerry was recommending it be stopped forthwith.

History repeats itself. Now the Bush Administration has been dishonest in telling you all that everything is going hunky-dorily when it fact that is not the case. That's why I said in an earlier post that should Bush win this election, America will be the laughing stock of the world. The world will see that the majority of Americans are gullible folks and mass-deception and fear-mongering succeeded big-time in the USA.
