He bore the scar for the remainder of his days & considered himself extremely fortunate. He & his comrades would never have used the "grab 3 medals for superficial wounds & run home" scam that Kerry pulled. The vast majority of WWII and Vietnam vets had too much personal pride to use that loophole while all their comrades served for the complete tour of duty. Kerry's lack of basic integrity was demonstrated when he nagged his commanding officers to complete the medal request paperwork. Kerry admitted during an interview with the Boston Globe "none of my injuries caused me to lose more than one day of service." How severe could they possibly have been? What kind of conscience allows a person to not feel guilty about accepting medals for scratches that many others received posthumously? Why did Kerry re-stage incidents & film them with his own movie camera? Why did he exaggerate his own valor when he wrote after-action reports for the medal incidents? You're being terribly gullible to fall for John Kerry's snake-oil salesman pitch. He simply lacks the required character to be Pres of the USA.
