How many Americans have suffered due to inadequate health care access.Preventive Medicine is what's not available to many Americans in this country. How many poor and elderly spend almost all their monies on prescription drugs?Ask your elderly parents about it......and the 17% in Medicare bills.

And let me fill you in on the Malpractice issue(and I ought to know)....the multimillion dollar law suits were around in the eighties and nineties yet malpractice rates were low.In the late nineties, many doctors saw even lower rates because the Insurance companies were making a ton of money on stocks,bonds,derivatives,etc.......but what happened when the Market crashed....low and behold the Insurance companies sought to recoup their losses by jacking up malpractice rate(2-3x existing rate) and only then did this affect the high-rated doctors of OBGYN,neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons.Adding to the problem has been the lack of AMA and other physician bodies to monitor and weed out the bad apples in medicine.Just because you have a MD degree doesn't mean you're errorless. The Hippocratic oath states succinctly...do no harm.
