cough .... sputter .... sputter

oy. sorry about that.

i shouldn't have taken a sip
while i was reading your reply....

i never could drink and laugh at the
same time <vbg>

did you know that throughout the 80's
and 90's, real income in the u.s.a.
declined or was stagnant for the
lower 60%, while wealth and income
for the rich skyrocketed. by 1998,
discounting home ownerhsip, the top
10% of the population claimed 76% of
the nation's net worth. more than
half of this is accounted for by the
richest 1%.

i just watched a documentary about
hobos travelling across the united
states with music by tom waits. it
was a remarkable film - the visual,
the audio and the message.

there are so many disadvantaged people
out there who aren't even aware of
this presidential election - all their
waking hours are spent trying to survive
i guess and it's irrelevant to them in
any case. but it makes one wonder, what
if they did all register and actually
voted - and voted for someone who would
HELP them? there are certainly enough
of them to do it. rhetorical question
though 'cause such a candidate wouldn't
be allowed to arrive at that place where
he might actually become president.

he'd be assassinated first. dean should
consider himself fortunate.

god bless america, eh.

i'm watching fahrenheit 9/11 for the first
time.

i have no words.
